  • The Cliffside

When Chapman Academy was built in the early 1800s, the cliffside was left wide open. There was no wall to protect anyone from falling over the edge. In the early 1900s, the safety of the students was finally questioned, and the wall was built. Despite this, the cliffsides remain a popular 'hangout spot' amongst the students. The wall does not deter the students from spending sunny afternoons and cool evenings by the cliff, watching the waves crash against the rocks.

  • The Lawn

Acres of beautiful, lush green grass surrounds the school with trees planted randomly about the place, offering shade to the students. A path cuts through the lawn, and splits into a fork towards the back of the school.

  • The Courtyard

The path to the left of the fork leads to the courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by a small ivory wall, about three feet high. The entrance to the courtyard is an iron gate, the same height as the wall. The courtyard itself is a large space with a fountain in the middle. In the very center of the fountain is a white marble statue of a tiger and a fox, the two animals used to represent the Chapman family and the Amorcya family.

  • The Gardens

The path to the right of the fork goes slightly downhill, and leads you to the gardens. The temperature cools somewhat when you enter the gardens. Chapman Academy's gardens offer a variety of different plants for everyone. These plants surround a large willow tree that was planted in the very center of the garden when the school first opened. A cobble path winds its way through the garden, taking you to one of the most relaxing places within Chapman Academy - the beautiful waterfall that provides a relaxing atmosphere for both students and teachers alike.
